Job listings hint at official Reddit apps for Android and iOS

Reddit is a super-popular social networking site focused on news aggregation alongside general findings that people come across. You can literally locate any topic you can think of and if a section (or ‘subreddit’) hasn’t yet been dedicated to this topic, it’s simple to get started and create a new home for everything cats, dogs and even piercings in the weirdest places.

The website does not have official apps available and rather relies on third-party alternatives. That is until now, according to a new job listing. Official Reddit apps are in the works for Android and iOS.

Watch this snowmobile launch off a cliff and feel your stomach drop

Watch this snowmobile launch off a cliff and feel your stomach drop

This is what GoPros were invented to do: take you along for the ride as completely insane adrenaline junkies launch vehicles off of precipices. Like Brett Turcotte jumping off a cliff riding his snowmobile—and landing perfectly.

Chat with the Man Who Unleashed 1.5 Million Balloons On Cleveland

Chat with the Man Who Unleashed 1.5 Million Balloons On Cleveland

Way back on September 27th, 1986, the city of Cleveland was taken over by 1.5 million helium-filled balloons. The photos are amazing. The aftermath was not. Tom Holowach, the project manager of Balloonfest ’86, popped by Kinja to say hello, and has kindly offered to answer all your questions about the event. The sky’s the limit, people!

84 year science experiment finally sees results after years of nothing

84 year science experiment finally sees results after years of nothing

Since 1930, there has been a science experiment that basically does nothing. Seriously. Scientists watch as a solid—that’s actually a liquid 230 billion times more viscous than water—drips down a glass container. But that takes time. A lot of time with a whole lot of nothing. For the past 84 years, the blob of tar has only dripped 8 times. It finally dripped the 9th time.

Enter now to win a Pad & Quill Field Bag or Little Pocket Book!

Hands down, some of our favorite iPad and iPhone accessories are handcrafted with love by the Pad & Quill team. I am personally fascinated by the workmanship that is poured into these creations, and admire Brian and Kari (Mr and Mrs P&Q) for not only their products, but also for sticking to the highest standards possible.

Crafted with the durability to become a family heirloom, the substantial full grain American cowhide leather, hefty twill woven waxed canvas, Baltic birch, and other fine materials in these products are each chosen specifically for their fine qualities. You would be hard pressed to find anything close to matching the attention to detail you’ll find from Pad & Quill.

Here is your chance to win an immaculately crafted piece from Pad & Quill. We have two different prizes available for our readers this week.

The Field Bag – A portrait styled carry all with American full grain leather, 18 oz waxed canvas and held together with parachute grade UV resistant stitching. Tons of pockets and lined with our signature orange for finding your stuff and a tribute to World Vision. Each bag signed by person who made It!

Little Pocket Book for iPhone – Artfully protects your favorite device and leaves plenty of space for cash and credit cards. A simple, and dare we say, essential, tool that bundles your must-haves so you can unburden your pockets.

To enter, leave a comment below and let us know which one of these awesome Pad & Quill creations you’d most love to call your own and why. We’ll pick two winners next week (one for each item) and announce it here on the blogs! Normal iMore contest rules apply! Good luck everyone!

Win a new Apple TV contest! Because, unlike FireTV, it’s available internationally!

Leave a single comment below telling us where you live and how iTunes compares to Amazon in your country and you’ll be entered to win one of three (3) Apple TVs for free!

I can’t get Amazon’s new Fire TV in Canada. That’s not a surprise since I can’t get Amazon MP3 or Amazon Video in Canada yet either. I can get a Kindle Fire in Canada but it costs much more than it does in the U.S. and — wait for it — doesn’t offer Amazon music or video! While people sometimes complain about Apple having a vertical lock on content, Amazon’s horizontal lock is just as frustrating for those of us outside the U.S. Apple, on the other hand, offers more content in more places than anyone else. And to celebrate that, we’re going to give away three (3) current-generation Apple TVs to three lucky iMore readers inside the U.S. or out!

To enter just leave a single comment below telling us where you live and how iTunes compares to Amazon in your country. If it’s the U.S., who has more of the stuff you want to listen to and watch? If it’s outside the U.S., who has anything for you at all, and how much?

We’ll pick three winners and send you a free Apple TV (technically a $150 Apple gift card).

That’s it! What could be simpler? Usual iMore contest rules apply, contest ends Wednesday April 9, 2014 at 11:59pm PDT. Hurry up, enter now!!
